Chris Matusz, CPT, Director of Total Sport Performance & Personal Training
Chris heads up Total Sports Performance & Personal Training, based out our Cave Creek location. He was born in Grand Junction Colorado and was raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Chris attended St. Mary’s High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He received a baseball scholarship to Iowa Wesleyan College where he was a starting pitcher for four years. In 2009, Chris began working for Total Sports Therapy (TST) as a Physical Therapy Technician. During his time at TST, Chris also coached Baseball for Cactus Shadows High School, St. Mary’s High School and Glendale Community College. Shortly after starting at TST, Chris, in conjunction with the owner of TST, started Total Sports Performance. Total Sports Performance was started to work with young athletes of all sports to improve their speed, strength and agility in the respective sports. Chris has done performance camps for Youth Baseball, Sandra Day O’Connor High School’s Football Team and Cactus Shadows High School’s Basketball Team. In addition, he has worked directly with Baltimore Orioles Pitcher, Brian Matusz. Chris is currently certified as a Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). NASM Personal Trainers use the Optimum Performance Training (OPT™) model, one of the industry’s first comprehensive training system based on scientific, evidence-based research.
