Athletic Trainers specialize in identifying the underlying cause of acute pain sometimes before the patient has been seen by a physician. Athletic Trainers also specialize in understanding the rigors of sport and cater the patient’s treatment for full return to that sport without restriction. In addition, they often help prevent injuries by advising on the proper use of equipment and applying protective or injury-preventive devices such as tape, bandages, and braces. Injury prevention also often includes educating people on what they should do to avoid putting themselves at risk for injury.
THE COMBINED GOAL OF THE 3 PROFESSIONS AT TOTAL SPORTS THERAPY IS TO HELP THE PATIENT OR ATHLETE ACHIEVE TOTAL RECOVERY FROM INJURY FOR RETURN TO WORK OR SPORT WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF INJURY PREVENTION AND THE BENEFITS OF A PHYSICAL FITNESS ROUTINE.
